Diploma in Theology and Christian Ministry

The Diploma in Theology and Christian Ministry is a three-year post-secondary programme with a practical-vocational orientation, covering basic aspects of Biblical, historical, systematic and applied theology with a critical approach. It is designed to equip future pastors, church leaders and Christian workers. By graduation, students should demonstrate ability for in-depth critical analysis of Biblical and theological issues relevant to the ongoing needs of the church and society.

  • Applicant must be a born again committed Christian who is in good standing with the Church and has a sense of God’s calling.
  • For the English course: Malawi School Certificate of Education with at least 6 passes including 1 credit.
  • Mature entry may be considered for CBS (English or Chichewa) if candidates with lower qualification have proven maturity, ability, and experience.

Bachelor of Theology

The Bachelor of Theology (BTH) is a four-year post-secondary programme with a practical-vocational orientation, covering broad aspects of Biblical, historical, systematic and applied theology with a critical approach. It is designed to equip future pastors, church leaders and Christian workers.

By graduation, students should demonstrate ability with relevant ministry skills for transformational engagement with the ongoing needs of the church and society on the basis of critical analysis of Biblical principles and theological issues. Students in this programme will be required to do practical placement during the holiday toward their final year.

  • Applicant must be a born again committed Christian who is in good standing with the Church and has a sense of God’s calling.
  • For the English course: Malawi School Certificate of Education with at least 6 passes including 1 credit.
  • Mature entry may be considered for CBS (English or Chichewa) if candidates with lower qualification have proven maturity, ability, and experience.

Bachelor of Christian Ministry (BCM) with Education OPTION

The Bachelor of Christian Ministry (BCM) with Education is a four year post-secondary programme with a practical-vocational orientation covering basic aspects of theology and education with critical approach. It is designed to equip future Christian workers with particular involvement in education.

By graduation, students should demonstrate ability with relevant ministry skills for transformational engagement with the ongoing needs of the church and society, particularly in the area of education, on the basis of critical analysis of Biblical principles and theological issues. Students in this programme will be required to do a teaching practicum during first semester of year four.

  • Applicant must be a born again committed Christian who is in good standing with the Church and has a sense of God’s calling.
  • For the English course: Malawi School Certificate of Education with at least 6 passes including 1 credit.
  • For mature entry, four credits including English and a grade of 65 in the Diploma (Grade B or GPA 3.0), in order to enter in the third year of the programme.
